Once the green tick (Official Business Account) request is submitted, WhatsApp usually takes 7 to 30 days to review and respond. However, in some cases, it may take a bit longer.

If it's been a while and there's still no update, you can check the current status inside your Facebook Business Manager under the Phone Numbers section — look for the “Account Status” column.

If the request wasn’t approved, unfortunately, WhatsApp doesn’t always provide a specific reason. You’ll be eligible to reapply after 30 days, ideally once your brand has stronger public visibility (such as media coverage, official website presence, etc.).

You can wait and check if the status changes or reapply after 30 days if needed.

The green tick (Official Business Account badge) is optional — it's meant to build extra trust with customers.

Even if your business doesn’t have the green tick, your number will still function normally on API, send/receive messages, use templates, and integrate with chatbots or CRM.

So there's no impact on functionality — only visual branding is different.
